This figurine comes with two of twelve spies, sent to Canaan by Moses for 40 days, to see if its suitable for the Israelite people as a future home, according to the Book of Numbers. One from every tribe was part of the special delegation. Here they are carrying a cluster of grapes as a symbol to the agricultural potential of the land.
The Promised Land was a land promised by G-d to Abraham, for the nations that will come out of his son, Isaac. Canaan was this land and the 12 spies were to collect specimen that this land is indeed good for cultivation and life. A ripe grapevine makes for the best evidence of a fertile land.
This figurine will look wonderful in a traditional Jewish home and will make a wonderful Passover gift.
